According to customs statistics, in the first half of this year, China's import and export of medical and health care products amounted to 127.963 billion US dollars, an increase of 1.28% year on year, including an export of 81.38 billion US dollars, a decrease of 1.81% year on year, and an import of 46.583 billion US dollars, an increase of 7.18% year on year. At present, the epidemic situation of New Coronary Pneumonia and the international environment are becoming more severe and complex. China's foreign trade development is still facing some unstable and uncertain factors, and there are still many pressures to ensure stability and improve quality. However, the fundamentals of China's pharmaceutical foreign trade, which has strong toughness, sufficient potential and long-term prospects, have not changed. At the same time, with the implementation of the national package of policies and measures to stabilize the economy and the orderly progress of the resumption of production, the import and export trade of medical and health products is still expected to overcome the adverse factors of the continuous decline in the demand for epidemic prevention materials in the world and continue to maintain a stable growth.

In the first half of the year, the trade volume of China's medical devices was 64.174 billion US dollars, of which the export volume was 44.045 billion US dollars, down 14.04% year on year. In the first half of the year, China exported medical devices to 220 countries and regions. From a single market perspective, the United States, Germany and Japan were the main export markets of China's medical devices, with an export volume of 15.499 billion US dollars, accounting for 35.19% of China's total exports. From the perspective of the medical device market segment, the export of protective medical dressings such as masks (medical/non-medical) and protective clothing continued to decline significantly. From January to June, the export of medical dressings was 4.173 billion US dollars, down 56.87% year on year; At the same time, the export of disposable consumables also showed a downward trend. From January to June, the export of disposable consumables reached 15.722 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 14.18%.

In the first half of 2022, the top three export markets of China's pharmaceutical products are the United States, Germany and India, with a total export of 24.753 billion US dollars, accounting for 55.64% of the total pharmaceutical foreign trade market. Among them, US $14.881 billion was exported to the United States, down 10.61% year on year, and US $7.961 billion was imported from the United States, up 9.64% year on year; Exports to Germany reached 5.024 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 21.72%, and imports from Germany reached 7.754 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 0.63%; Exports to India reached 5.549 billion US dollars, up 8.72% year on year, and imports from India reached 4.849 billion US dollars, down 4.31% year on year.
Exports to 27 EU countries reached US $17.362 billion, down 8.88% year on year, and imports from the EU reached US $21.236 billion, up 5.06% year on year; Exports to countries and regions along the "Belt and Road" were US $27.235 billion, up 29.8% year on year, and imports from countries and regions along the "Belt and Road" were US $7.917 billion, up 14.02% year on year.
